Dr. Mary Leazure O.D.
Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Mary Leazure provided comprehensive eye exams to patients in the Dallas area as Associate Faculty at UT Southwestern Medical School from 1997-2002. She has seven years of experience fitting contact lenses, designed to treat eye disease, in a hospital setting. Dr. Leazure has a special interest in providing pediatric vision care to children, as young as 30 months old. She opened Modern Family Vision in 2003 to continue superior care to her patients.
Janet Castro, O.D.
Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Janet Castro was born in Puerto Rico, and moved to Florida in 1976. She went to college at Valencia Community College and Memphis State University. She went to school at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN and graduated in 1989. This is where she met her wonderful husband Tom. They were married in 1991 and have a daughter. In 1987 and 1998 she went to Costa Rica as a student volunteer in Optometric Services to Humanity with the Lions Club. Between 1989 and 1990 she worked at Maitland Vision Center in Florida, doing general optometry, low vision, and contacts.
She moved to the Dallas, Texas area in 1990, where she worked as a relief optometrist. Dr. Castro is an expert in contacts. She fits patients that have difficulty with dry eye and allergies, as well as first time contact wearers. She is active in the community and also speaks fluent Spanish.
David Wysinger, O.D.
Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. David Wysinger is a native Texan who grew up in the Dallas area. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology/Chemistry from Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas. He completed his formal training in optometry at the University Of Houston College Of Optometry in 1999. Upon returning to Dallas, he worked in the private sector of ophthalmology with a strong emphasis in diabetic, cataract, glaucoma management and specialty contact lens fittings. Since 2006, Dr. Wysinger has worked as a relief optometrist. He is passionate about his patients and customizes his examinations to meet needs and exceed all expectations.
