Mary E. Leazure, O.D.

Dr. Mary Leazure has been providing comprehensive eye exams to patients in the Dallas area as Associate Faculty at UT Southwestern Medical School from 1997-2002. She has seven years of experience fitting contact lenses designed to treat eye disease in a hospital setting. Dr. Leazure has a special interest in providing pediatric vision care to children as young as six months. She opened Modern Family Vision, in 2003 to continue superior care to her patients. She tries to stay very involved in the community, and cares deeply for all of her patients, she is the type of doctor that will go the extra mile to make any patient have better vision and makes sure that before they leave the office that they understand everything she has stated to them and makes sure they are comfortable with everything before they leave the office. She is a devoted mother of 3 and loves her children dearly.

Janet Castro, O.D.

Dr. Janet Castro was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Florida in 1996. She went to College at Valencia Community College and Memphis State University. She went to Optometry School at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN and graduated in 1989, this is where she met her wonderful husband Tom they were married in 1991 and they have a 10 year old daughter. In 1987 & 1998 she went to Costa Rica as a student volunteer in Optometric Services to Humanity with the Lions Club. 1989 - 1990 she worked at Maitland vision Center in Florida, doing General Optometry, Low vision and contacts. She moved to the Dallas, Texas area in 1990 where she works as a relief optometrist. She is active in the community and also speaks fluent spanish.

Lanette

Lanette is our Optical Manger, She Currently holds a North Carolina License as an Optician, she has Kept this license up since 1997. This is a specialty to our office because in the State of Texas you do not have to hold a license to be an Optician. Lanette has over 16 years experience in the field of optics. She moved to Texas in 2005 and has been with Modern Family Vision since reaching Texas. She is married and has 1 child.

Elise

Elise is our Resource Manager. She dedicates her time to handling both vision and medical insurances for the convenience of our patients. Elise was born in Cleveland, Ohio then moved to San Antonio and has been in the Allen area for the last 30 years. She has 2 children and 2 grandchildren that she loves to talk about all the time. She likes to go hiking and back packing and spending time at home with her husband and 2 cats.

Jami

Jami has had 7 years of optical experience and has been an optician and doctor assistant at our office since 2004. She is very knowledgable of the latest optical fashions, ophthalmic lenses, contact lenses, and medical procedures. Jami can help you select the best pair of glasses or contacts that fits your personality and lifestyle. She moved to Texas from Southern Illinois and is married and has 2 children.

Susan

Susan is an optician in our office, she has 7 years experience in the optical field including 4 years retail and 3 years with a private doctor. She is able to provide you information about the latest optical frames and lenses that will fit with your prescription and as well as the best glass lens technology available due to extensive training and seminars. Susan Grew up in East Texas and moved to the Dallas area 14 years ago. She is married and has 8 children and 2 grandchildren.

Delica

Delica is our receptionist. So once you walk through our front doors she is the smiling face that you meet first. Delica is working on an Associates Degree in Health Information Technology at Collin County Community College. This is her second career. Her first Career was in the Mortgage Industry in which she spent 17 years. Delica was born in Germany and later grew up in Ohio and Georgia. She relocated to Texas in 2001 due a job transition with her husband. She has 2 wonderful children that she loves to go bike riding with, she spends time walking her dog and likes to keep up on the latest movies when not in school or working.

Jerry

Jerry is our Book Keeper.He has a wonderful wife of 46 years, he also has 2 sons and 6 grandchildren. He is not a face that you see a lot of. He is usually looking at the computer and working with numbers. He works part time, he is retired since July 2006, that is when he moved from Florida to Allen. Even though he is retired he says he is still to young to be hanging around the house watching the grass grow. He went to University of Akron in Ohio to major in Accounting and Business Management. He was in the U.S. Air Force. He is very active in his church, Avid Reader, Big Sports fan with Basketball, He tends to gear more towards University of Akron Sports. He does like the Dallas Mavericks, He is also a Cleveland Browns fan. He is also a Dallas Cowboys fan but will choose the Browns during the Cowboy/Browns game! All you cowboy fans may want to change his mind on that one!!!!!!!

Angie

Angie is the newest addition to Modern Family Vision. She is our Office Administrator. She is responsible for keeping us all moving and working in an organized manner. She has over 14 years experience in the Medical field. She holds a Medical Assisting Diploma. She has worked in several specialties in the medical field such as Pediatrics, Family Practice, OB/GYN, Orthopedics and Neurology. She has had a lot of experience in the administration part of office's, with several classes and training and enjoys working more with administration. If you have any questions or concerns with the office just give her a call and she will gladly help you. Angie was born and raised in Texas and has been married for 11 years and has 2 children one Little Princess and one 6 foot tall football player. She loves football, she is a devoted fan of the Oklahoma Sooners, she will gladly tell you that during football season.
